Montblanc 280 Ballpoint Pen clip lever made in dark woodgrain matte finish resin.

Montblanc’s flagship and probably one of the most beautiful ballpoint pens of the 60’s.

The quality is unique, materials are best there are.
This highly processed plastic unlike other plastics, simply does not crack. It’s very thick but also has some elasticity so its difficult to crack even if dropped. This tiny elasticity makes it very hard to ding, so dropping the pens does not damage what so ever.

These brushed models were produced for a short time , thus are very rare.

The pen features the amazing, Montblanc patented lever mechanism, at the time marketed as the “11th finger” system, meant to turn the pen off automatically when hanged into a pocket.
The lever can be activated with the finger simply by pushing it, however the lever also passes under the clip, thus when hanged into a pocket, the fabric passing under the clip will automatically turn off the pen.
Very convenient feature for all doctors in the world with ink stains on their white coats pockets.
